First, students have to choose which thing they like the best in each pair, but they have to do it fast, like a cheetah! Then, they write a short paragraph about the choices they made. By making choices quickly, students practice their reading fluency skills, and by writing about their choices, they get writing practice. There's also a bonus activity at the bottom of the page where students write adjectives that describe gnomes who wear pointy hats, which gives them practice with describing words.
