Zion National Park
Zion National Park is in Utah. It was the first national park in Utah. Zion became a park in 1919. At that time, most of the park was too hard to reach. Most people could not get to the beautiful formations in the park. Many things have changed over the years. Today shuttle buses take people on tours of the park. However, the best way to experience the beauty of Zion is on foot.
Visitors to Zion can hike on foot paths. They can climb into canyons. They can climb steep formations. They have names like Angels' Landing or Observation Point. You can take photos of the beautiful rocks. Artists often try to paint or draw the beauty they see at Zion.
The Zion Human History Museum is found in the park. It gives visitors a chance to learn about the people who lived in this area. American Indians lived on this land for many years. Settlers also crossed this area. Both groups left their mark on the land. People have always lived in this area. Yet, there are not many written stories about the land.
