Yuck!

Sense of Smell Day

Reading Comprehension for April 28

Bobby loves his trucks. He has seven blue trucks. He has three green trucks. He has five black trucks. Every one of them is different. Each one is special.

Bobby likes to make roads for his trucks. He makes long roads in the backyard. The roads go around trees. They go over hills. They go under the porch.

Bobby played with his trucks for two hours today. He even built a city for his trucks. He made little houses. He made stores. He made gas stations. He even made a big garage for the trucks.

Then Bobby saw his father come home. His father drove a big red truck. Bobby ran to meet him.

"Dad! I'm so glad you're home. May I get in the truck? Will you take me for a ride? Let's go get some gas."

Bobby's father nodded.

"I do need to get gas," he said. "I will let your mother know that we will be right back."

Bobby's father went into the house. In a few minutes he came back. He got into the truck and started it.

"Dad," Bobby said, "the truck smells so good inside. I like the smell of the seats."

"They smell like oil," his father said. "Some of the things I work on have oil on them. It gets on the seat sometimes."

"Well, I like how oil smells," Bobby said.

His father laughed.

"You have a strange sense of smell, Bobby," he said.

They drove to the gas station. Bobby's father got out of the truck. He started putting gas in the truck.
