Writing a Letter
How do you talk with friends? You talk when you see them at school. You talk on the phone. You can talk to them and even see them on the computer. You can send email letters on a computer. Do you ever send a handwritten letter? All you need is your hand, some paper, and a pen or pencil for a handwritten letter.
Letter writing is an easy way to communicate. People send letters all the time. People send them for work. Many people send them for fun. A letter can be about anything. Some letters are very serious. Some letters are funny. Some letters are sad.
Is there someone you want to write to? Think about your letter. Choose one or two things to say. Letters with one or two ideas are best. Will your letter be funny? Will it be serious? No matter which kind of letter you choose, there's an easy way to write it.
First, start with the person's name. To whom are you writing? Put his or her name at the top. "Dear" is a good word to start with. Put it before the person's name.
