Working for Peace
Lauren has an older brother named Pete. Pete has always been a great brother, and Lauren is really proud of him. He has always been good to Lauren. He has always looked out for her, and he has always been around to help her until the last four years.
Pete has been at college for the last four years. He went to college right after high school. His college is a long way from home and a long way from Lauren. Pete said he liked being in college but that he missed home, too. Most of all, he missed Lauren.
Today, Pete is at home. He graduated from college last week. He and Lauren are talking about all kinds of things. They are mostly talking about their plans. Lauren will be starting middle school. Pete said he had joined the Peace Corps.
"What is the Peace Corps?" Lauren asked.
