Wobbegongs

G'day, Mate! Have you seen a wobbegong? Welcome to the Land Down Under - that's Australia, you know. Here in Australia, we have some unique words that you might not know. Wobbegong is one of them.


What is a wobbegong, you ask? It's a shark. They live at the bottom of the ocean. They eat crustaceans like oysters and clams. They eat small fish and mollusks, too.


There are eight different kinds of wobbegong. Most of them live in the warm Pacific waters around Australia. They live in the western Pacific around Indonesia and in the eastern Indian Ocean, too. One kind even lives as far north as Japan. The spotted wobbegong is the largest species. It can be more than ten feet long!
