People need money to buy food and clothes. They need money to pay for a place to live. People work to earn money. They spend money on goods and services. What are goods, and what are services?
Goods are things. Goods can be touched. Goods can be used or consumed. Food, books, and clothes are goods. A good such as an apple might be used just once. Some goods, such as books, can be used over and over again.
Services are things we pay someone else to do for us. When we go to the doctor, we buy a service. Some services we buy are haircuts, movies, and dance lessons. When we buy a service, we don't get a thing we can touch. But we do get something we need or want.
