Up or Down
"Is it up or is it down?" Mark asked.
"It is up," Mr. Brown answered.
The children in Mr. Brown's class were playing a game called Opposites. They were trying to guess what Mr. Brown was thinking about. They could only ask questions that had opposite words in them.
"Is it careful or is it careless?" Marcy asked.
"It is careful," Mr. Brown said.
"Is it ugly or is it pretty?" Sandra asked.
"It is pretty, but I have seen ugly ones," Mr. Brown explained.
The children thought quietly for a minute. It was hard to guess this one.
