"Uncle Fred," asked Cindy, "what is that?"
Cindy pointed to the brown thing in his hand. It looked like a short, thick stick.
"This?" Uncle Fred held it up. "This is a cigar."
He cut off the tip of one end. Then he lit a match. He held it to the end to start it burning.
He took some puffs on the cigar. Then he blew out a small cloud of smoke.
Cindy coughed. "Yuck," she said. "That is not nice. It stinks. Can you put it out?"
Uncle Fred looked at his cigar.
"I suppose I can. I can smoke it later."
