The Stormy Shore
"Maddy!" called Dad. "Would you like to walk on the shore?"
"Is it still raining?" asked Maddy.
"A little bit," said Dad. "It should stop soon."
Maddy put on her raincoat and hat. Then she put on her boots. The waves would come up high on the beach.
The house was well above the shore. Maddy followed her dad down the steps.
It was fun to be at the shore after a storm. Many times the waves washed things up on it.
Sometimes they would find driftwood. It would be in odd shapes.
They might also find seaweed or shells. One time they found a whale bone.
"What are we looking for, Dad?" asked Maddy. She bent down to pick up a shell.
