It was just the last straw! Laura was tired of hearing it. Of course she was moody. Everyone has moods. Why did her family think she was different? Her father said that he couldn't ever tell what mood she was in. Her mother said she didn't understand her moods. Her brother said that she was just a pain. What was the matter with them, anyway? She was just so frustrated!
Laura went into her room. She would show them. But how would she do it? She thought for a long time. Finally, she knew what she would do. She began to get her supplies together.
First, she found a sheet of poster board. It was left over from her science project. She had worked hard on the project. She had been proud of it. She was disappointed when it didn't win a ribbon at the science fair.
Next, she found a black marker. It had a thin tip. It would be perfect for writing on the poster board. It was the last marker she had. She had been so angry when her brother used her markers without asking. He had left the tops off and they all dried out.
Finally, she found her poster paints and a brush. She was shocked that she could find all of them.
When she had all her supplies together, she started to work. She drew a big circle on the poster board. She divided it into ten sections. She painted each section a different color.
While she waited for the paint to dry, she made a pointer out of a Popsicle stick. She colored it black with the marker. She made a hole in the end of it. She put a brad through the hole.
When the paint was dry, Laura labeled each section with a different emotion. She wrote "furious" on the red section. Everything seemed red when she was furious.
