Reading Comprehension for April 23
"Mom! Mom!" cried Jason, waving the newspaper in the air and running through the house.
Mom grabbed him as he ran by her in the kitchen. "What's the matter?"
"Nothing is the matter. LOOK!" Jason said, handing Mom the newspaper.
"Look where, Jason?" Mom asked, a bit annoyed.
"Right there," he said, pointing to an article on the front page.
Mom sat down at the kitchen table and read the article aloud. "Home Run Day Contest. To be held to benefit the Spring Street Homeless Shelter. April 23rd at 4:00 P.M. Holt Recreation Center. All ages welcome."
"What do you think?" asked Jason. "Can I do it?"
"I think it's a great idea," said Mom.
Jason leaned over Mom's shoulder to read the article. "What do I need to do?"
