The Heat Meter
Where are thermometers? They are outside. They are in kitchens. They are a part of furnaces and air conditioners. They are in ovens, refrigerators, and freezers. Thermometers are also in almost every medicine cabinet.
Many people know that thermometers measure temperature. "Thermo" means heat. "Meter" means to measure. Thermometers today come in all shapes, sizes, and kinds. A thermometer that most people are familiar with is a bulb thermometer. It is a glass tube. It has a glass bulb at the end. There is liquid inside. The liquid rises and falls with the temperature.
