"Okay, class, that will be all for today," said Miss Reed as she started to erase the blackboard. "Oh, don't forget to put your homework in your backpacks." Then she turned back around to face the class and said, "Remember, your reports on your favorite explorer are due next week. Refer to the handouts that I gave you. This should be a fun assignment. See you all tomorrow."
Jerome stuffed his books in his backpack and headed toward the door. "Hey, wait for me, Jerome," said Andy as he slung his backpack over his shoulder. "Wow, that was some game today in gym class, wasn't it? I wasn't sure we were going to win until the last minute," Andy said.
"Yes, me either. I was glad Jeff hit that home run. That let both of us bring in runs," said Jerome with a smile.
