Reading Comprehension for June 16
Poor Sassy. Sassy was a clown. Her hair was yellow. She had a little red nose and funny striped legs. Her two sisters were Brassy and Classy. Brassy had big red hair and a long, skinny nose. Classy had two long, brown pigtails and a big grin. Their home was a circus. Sassy loved the circus, but she had a problem. Sassy did not know how to juggle.
Sassy tried to juggle eggs, but they hit the floor and broke! She tried to juggle kittens, but they dug their claws into her dress and would not let go! She tried to juggle marbles, but they ended up on the floor. Then she slipped on them and fell down on her big behind! (Lots of clowns have big behinds. That is because they stuff pillows in their pants.)
Sassy crawled around and found her lost marbles. Then she looked at her sisters. They were good at juggling. First, Brassy would throw a club to Classy. Then Classy would throw it back to Brassy. Then they threw two clubs, one at a time. Then it was three clubs. Finally, they were throwing four clubs back and forth. They made it look easy.
"May I try?" Sassy asked.
