Eric removed the camera from the tripod and led the way to the house. "Hi, Grandma," Eric called. "We're going to be inside for a while."
His grandmother was in the kitchen. "That's fine, boys. You look like you could use some refreshments," she said. "Why don't you settle down in the living room, and I'll bring something out to you?"
Eric suspected that his grandmother already had everything ready; she was almost on their heels as they settled in the living room. She put the loaded tray on the coffee table and began filling cups from the pitcher. While she worked, she listened to the boys' chatter. The boys were working on the movie idea when Grandma interrupted.
"I hope you don't mind my asking, but have you written a script for your movie? Also, a storyboard with thumbnail sketches would be useful."
The three boys looked at her like she had a second head growing out of her shoulder.
"Grandma, how do you know so much about how to make movies?" Eric finally asked.
Grandma smiled. "I have a college degree in film production, and I even worked for a small film company for a while."
"Wow," said Eric softly. "Why didn't anyone ever tell me about this before?"
"Perhaps you should have asked," said Grandma with a smile. "People forget what you used to do for a living when you decide to stay home to look after children and grandchildren."
