The SPF rating can be found on sunscreens, lotions, and cosmetics. SPF stands for sun protection factor. The SPF number refers to the sunscreen's ability to block out the harmful ultraviolet B (UVB) rays of the sun that cause sunburns. Products with a higher SPF offer more protection than products with lower SPF numbers.
