Reading Comprehension for November 20
Sudeana Sullivan sat down to write. She was a reporter for her school newspaper. Sudeana loved to write. She would write about anything. Sometimes, she would report on an event at school. Other times, she would write a fiction story. This time, she was asked to write a short article related to Peanut Butter Lovers Month for the November issue. She decided that she would approach it by writing instructions. She picked up her pen.
"In honor of Peanut Butter Lovers Month, I will describe the very best way to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich," Sudeana wrote.
"First, you have to have very fresh bread. My favorite type of bread is peanut butter and jelly bread, which can be prepared in a bread machine. Fresh whole wheat bread is good for you, and of course, there is also white bread.
"Next, get a jar of Rich and Creamy Peanut Butter. (I like that brand the best, but you can use any peanut butter you like.)
