Do you want to become a professional athlete? What is your favorite sport? Do you like football, baseball, tennis, or golf? Do you like to play by yourself, or do you like to be part of a team? Maybe you don't want to play. Maybe you would like to have another kind of job in the sports field.
Each sport is special. Each sport is played differently. Some are team sports. Other ones are individual sports. Basketball, soccer, hockey, and football are examples of team sports. Individual sports include golf, tennis, bowling, archery, and many others.
Athletes must work hard to be successful. Many athletes play their sport just for fun. They aren't paid to play. They are known as amateur athletes. Professional athletes are paid to play their sports. They have special training and equipment. They must practice, practice, practice! It is very hard to become a professional athlete.
