Should I Just Swipe My Credit Card?
Cathy and Lisa were shopping at the outlet mall. It seemed like Cathy was buying something in every store. She just kept swiping her credit card. Lisa thought it was going to melt. Cathy even used her credit card at the food court to charge her ice cream cone!
Lisa couldn't stand it anymore. "Cathy, aren't you going a little crazy with your credit card today?" she asked.
"I don't think so," Cathy said. "I love using my credit card. It's so much easier than trying to count out all that cash. You don't have to mess with all that change. My limit is really high. Besides, I won't get a bill until the end of the month. And my minimum payment is only fifteen dollars! I can get all this stuff and only pay fifteen dollars for it each month. That's the beauty of credit cards."
"That is dangerous thinking," Lisa warned. "It can get you into real trouble."
Lisa felt she had to tell Cathy the real deal about credit cards. "Credit cards are not your friends," she scolded. "They can help you rack up a large amount of debt in a short amount of time."
