Short Track Speed Skating

It's fun. It's fast. From time to time it's even frightening! Short track speed skating is a fast sport. In this event, skaters race one another. They race around an oval ice skating rink. During the race, they may bump into each other. Many skaters fall down. Some even slide into walls. This sport can be dangerous! It can also be a lot of fun to watch.

Speed skating has always been a Winter Olympic sport. Short track speed skating, though, did not become a full medal event until 1992. Now it is very popular. Many people like to watch this speedy sport.

Canada and South Korea have very good speed skaters. China and the USA .....
