Seasons at the Poles

The South Pole is on the continent of Antarctica. The North Pole is not on any continent. It is located in the frozen Arctic Ocean.


Seasons in the polar regions are extreme. Winter is several months of darkness. Summer is several months of daylight. That's why the Arctic is called "the Land of the Midnight Sun."
