Sea-Monkeys - One of the World's Smallest Pets

One of the smallest pets in the world is hard to see. In fact, when it hatches, you need a magnifying glass to see it! It is a species of brine shrimp. You will never find this shrimp on the menu at a seafood restaurant. More popularly known as Sea-Monkeys, the scientific name of this pet is Artemia salina. Sea-Monkeys grow to be about the length of an adult's fingernail. That's one-half to three-fourths of an inch. These tiny shrimp get their name from their long tails. This kind of pet is sold in a kit that comes with a tank, a packet of eggs, a packet of water purifier, and special food. They only need to be fed about once a week. If directions are followed closely, Sea-Monkeys should live for about a year. Owners love to watch these tiny shrimp swim and play. .....
