Salsa means sauce is Spanish. The salsa we think of is "salsa rosa" - a red, chunky, spicy sauce made from tomatoes and chili peppers. The variety of salsa recipes is endless. Some recipes include fruits like pears, pineapple, and peaches. There are also recipes for bean salsa, corn salsa, and onion salsa. Salsa is a good choice for snacks. It is low in sodium and fat free and contains vitamins A and C.


What ways do you use salsa? There are many uses for this spicy sauce. Many southwestern recipes use salsa. Tacos are topped with salsa. Salsa is used as a salad dressing. You can mix it in with ground beef for a delicious burger. Add it to melted cheese to eat with your favorite taco chip. Grab some fresh veggies, and dip away. The choices are up to you.
