Rosa Parks: Life After the Bus
Rosa Parks's arrest on December 1, 1955, inspired a bus boycott that helped to end "separate but equal" laws in the United States. Many people mark this event as the beginning of the civil rights movement. During this time, Rosa and many African Americans protested, marched, and demanded equal rights for their people. This made many people in the South very angry. They did not want black people to have equal rights. They blamed Rosa for this new movement. Some people sent Rosa hate mail.
