Roald Dahl was born on September 13, 1916. He was born in the country of Wales. As a child he attended a boarding school in England. The school was very strict. Students had to be neat at all times. Messiness was not allowed! They always had to walk. No running allowed! They had to obey lots of rules.
Once Roald was beaten with a cane for breaking a rule. His mother found out about it and took him out of that school.
