Reindeer or Caribou
Reindeer are a type of deer. They live in lands near the Arctic polar region. In Europe and Asia, they are called reindeer. In North America, we call them caribou.
Reindeer have thick fur coats. Their fur helps them to stay warm in the bitter cold of the Arctic. Both male and female reindeer have long, branched antlers. This makes them unlike other types of deer. The females of other deer don't have antlers. Reindeer live in groups called herds. Every year, reindeer must walk for thousands of miles to look for food. They eat plants and fungi. They eat grass, moss, and lichen. They eat tree leaves, too.
