Is it hard to be a kid? It can be! Author Paula Danziger understood this. In fact it drove her crazy when people said that it was easy to be a kid. It was her pet peeve. Ms. Danziger wrote many books for kids. She did this because she cared about children.
Ms. Danziger always wanted to be an author. When she was in second grade she decided that someday she would write books for kids. But she wasn't always an author. Ms. Danziger first worked as a teacher. She was a junior high teacher. She was a high school teacher. She was even a college teacher! But even while she was teaching, Paula longed to be an author. Then one day Ms. Danziger was in a bad car accident. Then, the very next day, she was in another car accident! Ms. Danziger knew that very day that she had to start writing. She has joked that if she waited any longer she might have been hit by a bus!
