"I would like 2 scoops of chocolate in a cone." People have been ordering ice cream in cones for over 100 years.
Who made the first ice cream cone? There are many stories about who made the first one. One story says that the first ice cream cone was made in 1896. It was made by Italo Marchiony. He was from Italy. He came to the U.S. in the late 1800s. He lived in New York. He started by selling ice cream from a push cart.
Marchiony would serve ice cream in dishes. The dishes would break. Sometimes people would not give them back. He made a machine to solve the problem. The machine was like a waffle maker.
