Our spacecraft is slowing down now. Ahead we can see a brilliant blue ball. It is Neptune. Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. Neptune is also the fourth-largest planet in the solar system. Fifty-seven Earths could fit inside it!

In 1846, astronomers already knew about Neptune's neighbor, Uranus. One of them saw that Uranus's path around the sun was uneven. He said it was uneven because there was something moving it. Maybe it was the gravity from another planet. Scientists used math to figure out where that planet would be.
