Name Yourself Day
How do you feel about your name? Some lucky people love their names. Others wonder what on earth their parents were thinking! If you are in the latter category, there is an unofficial "holiday" that might give you a breath of fresh air. Perhaps an annual name change, even for one day, will prevent a lifelong identity crisis for people who can't stand their given names.
The origin of this "holiday" is not known, but Name Yourself Day always occurs on April 9th. Its purpose is to let people change their names for one day. First, middle, or last names can be changed. People can also give themselves weird, wacky, or wonderful nicknames, so it is a day, in a way, full of opportunity to remake yourself.
If you like the idea of changing your name for a day, you could pick an exceptional first name. Some unique boy names include Babaje, Aloysius, and Cash. What would a boy's life be like if he had the name Eratosthenis or Oz? Some unique girl names are Reveka and Siobhan. Other girl names are inspiring and uplifting, such as Liberty, Destiny, and Virtue. It might take a bit of work to live up to those names! Some names can be used for either boys or girls, such as Morgan or Taylor.
