MyPlate: The Fruit Food Group

MyPlate can help me make good food choices. It can help you, too!


MyPlate is new. It took the place of the Food Pyramid. I think MyPlate makes it easier to see what I should eat.


MyPlate is a symbol. It shows a plate with four parts. One of those parts should have fruit on it at each meal. Most kids need one and one-half cups of fruit every day.


I love fruit! It is gives me vitamins and fiber. Fruit tastes good, too. Most fruits are sweet and juicy!


Fruits come in many colors. I like red apples, cherries, and strawberries.


I like orange oranges, cantaloupes, and peaches.


I like yellow bananas and prickly pineapples.


I like green grapes and kiwis with fuzzy, brown skin.


I like blueberries and purple plums.
