The Morgan twins, Austin and Logan, didn't like to be seen with their mother. She wore glasses and no makeup. Her hair was always pulled into a ponytail. She wore plain clothes and plain shoes. Computers were her life. She was always working on computer projects. Austin and Logan were embarrassed. Mrs. Morgan was a geek.
Mrs. White, who was their friend Brad's mother, had pretty hair and wore stylish jeans and tops. Mrs. Anders, another friend's mother, looked like a model. None of their friends had a mother who looked like a geek! It was so embarrassing!
When they went shopping, they ran ahead or lagged behind their mother. They tried to look like they were not with her. When she came to school functions, they pretended not to see her.
"Do you think Mom knows what we're doing?" Austin once asked.
