Moon 101
It's made of green cheese. There is a man up there looking down on you. When it's full, people turn into werewolves. These are stories about the moon you might have believed when you were young.
For many years, the moon has been a source of wonder. Over the past 100 years or so, people have been able to study it more closely. Men have even walked on it. We have learned a lot about the moon.
There are many moons in the solar system. But Earth's moon is different. It is one of the largest in the solar system. It is farther from its planet than other moons. Earth's moon is made of rock. Some other moons are made of ice.
