Molly the Cuttlefish

"Mom, you will take good care of Molly, won't you?" said Tim as he picked up his duffel bag and tossed his backpack over his shoulder. "You know how sensitive she is, and I would really be upset if anything happened to her."

"Yes, dear, I will take really good care of her. She will be eagerly waiting for you when you get home," Mom said. "Now, are you sure you have everything? Oh, and don't forget to send us a message on the subspace communicator as soon as you get there."

"I will, Mom," said Tim as he stepped onto the transport ship. He turned back and gave his mother a hug and then shook his dad's hand. His dad gave him a little hug anyway.

"I'm really proud of you, son. I hope you learn a lot while you are visiting the lunar colony on this school field trip," said Dad.

Tim waved to his parents and then found a seat on the transport. It would be a long trip from his home on the ocean floor colony all the way to the lunar colony, but he had been looking forward to it for months.

Lori sat in the seat next to Tim. She along with all the other kids in her class had just said goodbye to their parents. She had overheard Tim saying goodbye to his parents, too.

"Well, we are finally on our way," said Lori. "I was so nervous last night that I couldn't sleep. I'm still nervous."

Tim looked out the window as the transport moved out of the new docking bay facility. He was proud of the help he had been able to give to its construction. "I think this will be the best two weeks ever," Tim said.

"I couldn't help but hear you tell your mom to take good care of Molly. Who's Molly?" said Lori.
