Mix It Up!
"What would you like to mix with that?" the girl behind the counter asked.
Marilyn pursed her lips. There were so many choices. No wonder this place was popular.
Marilyn and her sister Melody were enjoying their time downtown. Melody was older and lived in another state. She lived only a couple of hours away. Melody tried to come see Marilyn regularly. One of their favorite things to do when they were together was to stroll through downtown and stop at Mix-It-In, an ice cream place.
"Have you decided yet?" the attendant asked. Marilyn was still looking at the list of all the items she could mix into her vanilla ice cream.
"Please mix in brownie and peanuts," she said.
"That will be good," the attendant said. Then she turned to Melody. "How about you?"
Melody was a bit quicker to decide. "I'd like the chocolate ice cream with macadamia nuts and strawberries mixed in."
Marilyn looked at her big sister. "That sounds good, too," she said.
