"We need to hurry," said James. "Mom said she and Mindy would be home at four o'clock."
"I just need to put up this last frog," said Gina, stretching her arm to place the cardboard frog on the wall.
Standing in the family room doorway, Mindy's brother and sister admired their work.
James grinned. "A leap frog birthday party for a leap year birthday."
"I hope Mindy is surprised," said Gina. "She looked a little sad this morning."
"It must be hard to have a birthday once every four years," said James.
"Yeah, she's eight, but this is only her second birthday," said Gina. "I guess having a birthday on February 29th is a little strange. Oh, there's the doorbell."
"I hope that's Katie and Abby," said James. "They're bringing the music for musical chairs."
