"Meow. Meow." And a little while later, a much louder, "Meow!"
"Just a minute!" yelled Sandra, down the hall in the den. "I'll be there in a minute!"
"What a spoiled cat," Sandra muttered under her breath. She had just started watching a favorite television show. Then her cat, Yoda, started meowing. He always did that when he was hungry. He wouldn't stop until he got fed.
Yoda had been around for over ten years. He was king of the home. He had been named for a popular character in a movie. When the family had first gotten him, he stuck his ears straight out in fear when he met the family dog. Now, of course, Yoda ruled and felt the dog was inferior.
Yoda strolled into the den. "Meow!" he exclaimed.
Sandra jerked her head around, just missing an important part of the show.
"Will you just wait, please!" Sandra said in frustration.
"Meow," Yoda said, meaning, "No."
Sandra turned back and crossed her arms. "I'm going to ignore him until a commercial comes on. Rats. Now I've lost the story line!"
