"Push!" said Helen's mom.
"ARGH!" Helen groaned as she began pushing against the side of a wooden booth. She was helping her mom set up a booth for the Family Health and Fitness Fair.
"Right there, that's good," said Mom, wiping her hand across her brow. "Can you help me with these boxes now?"
"Oh, sure," said Helen with a smile. As she reached down to pick up one of the boxes, she noticed her friend Marta helping at a nearby booth. "Look, there's Marta. I wonder what she's doing here."
Mom glanced in the direction of the other booth. "Let's get these boxes behind the booth, and then you can go and find out," said Mom.
"Great," said Helen, lifting one of the boxes up into her arms. She walked behind the booth and placed it on the floor. Then she went back for another. When all the boxes were moved, Helen turned to her mom. "Can I go see Marta now? I won't be gone too long."
"That's fine. I'll get started setting up the display," said Mom. "See if Marta can walk around the fair with you. It would be nice to know what's going on today."
"O.K., I will," Helen said excitedly. "Thanks, Mom."
Helen turned and hurried toward where she had seen Marta. When Marta saw her coming, she ran to meet Helen.
"Hi! What are you doing here?" the girls said at the same time. Then they began to giggle.
"You go first," said Helen.
