Jackals
Being around jackals too long might get on your nerves. Jackals are very noisy animals. They talk to each other by screaming, yelling, and yapping. Sometimes jackals gather in small packs to hunt or to pick apart a dead animal, but usually jackals travel alone or in pairs. That's probably a good thing since they're so noisy.
Jackals are good hunters. They have long legs and big feet. They are good runners and can run for long periods of time without getting tired. They hunt big animals like antelopes and sometimes will prey on farmers' sheep. Jackals aren't just carnivores or meat-eaters, though. They are omnivores. They eat all kinds of food. They eat insects and fruits and berries. They eat the remains of animals killed by other animals. They'll even dig through garbage dumps to find food.
