Rico pulled on his coat and hat and headed out the door. He went to the garage and grabbed a bucket of nails, a saw, and a hammer. He carried them to a structure that he was building in his backyard. He put the items down and stood back to admire what he had started.
"Brr, it's cold today," called a voice behind him.
Rico turned to see his friend Keith walking toward him.
"Hi, Keith," Rico said, rubbing his arms to keep warm.
"What are you doing?" asked Keith.
"I'm building a shelter."
"Why do you need a shelter?" asked Keith. "I know it's chilly, but you can go inside the house for shelter."
Rico smiled, picked up his saw, and started to cut a piece of wood. "I am pretending to be stranded on a desert island."
"Cool!" said Keith. "How did you come up with that idea?"
"We just finished reading Robinson Crusoe," said Rico. "What a story! Hey, I have an idea; do you want to help me?"
"I guess so," said Keith. "What do you want me to do?"
"You can pretend to be Friday," said Rico as he bent down to pick up his hammer.
"Who's Friday?" asked Keith.
