Casey had written a poem. All the third grade students had to write a poem. It was Young People's Poetry Week.
Casey knew she could not write a poem. She didn't know why she had to write one. She was good at math. She wished she could do some math problems.
Her teacher said everyone had to write a poem. Mr. Marks even told them how to write a poem. He showed them different kinds of poems. Casey liked to hear the poems. Why couldn't she just read a poem?
