How Long Is a Year?
A year is one way we measure time. How long is a year? It depends on which planet you're talking about. On Earth, a year is 365 1/4 days. That's the time it takes Earth to make one trip or orbit around the sun. On other planets, though, a year is a different length of time.
Planets closer to the sun than Earth have shorter distances to go around the sun. As a result, they have shorter years. On Mercury, a year is only 88 days long.
A year on Venus is 225 days long.
