School was out. It was sunny and hot.
Ben wanted to go fishing.
But there was a problem. No one would go fishing with him.
His mother had to go to work.
His father worked at home. He had to write a story. He could not go with Ben.
His sister wanted to go to the pool. She wanted to swim. She did not want to fish.
His big brother wanted to play baseball. He did not want to fish.
No one wanted to go fishing with Ben.
He felt very sad.
"Dad," he said, "May I go visit Grampa?" When Ben was small, he couldn't say, "Grandpa." Instead, he said, "Grampa." Even though he was bigger now and knew how to say the word, he still called his grandfather "Grampa."
"Yes," his father said. "But do not ask him to go fishing. He does not like to fish."
