What is peace? Peace is quiet. Peace is calm. Peace is not fighting. September 21st is a day to celebrate peace. It is called the International Day of Peace. That means that countries all over the world take part.

The Day of Peace was started in 1981. The United Nations came up with the idea. The United Nations is a group of people from different countries. They help keep peace in the world. They help people feel safe.

The UN was started in 1945. It started after World War II. Most countries are a part of the UN. They are called the "peace keepers."
