The air is cool. The leaves are colorful. It is fall. And that means that it is almost time for Halloween. It also means that it is time to pick a pumpkin! Pumpkins are round and orange. But they don't start out that way. Pumpkins begin their lives as small seeds. In order for a pumpkin to grow, a seed must first be planted in the ground. These seeds must be planted in late May or early June. Within two weeks, the seed will sprout. With a little time and a lot of sun and rain, a green plant will soon begin to grow.
