Aerial skiing is a type of freestyle snow skiing. Men and women can both participate in freestyle skiing. Women compete against women. Men compete against men. In the aerials competition, only one skier goes down the slope at a time. The skier races down as fast as he can, gaining speed. The speed helps him as he flies off a ramp and into the air.
