Tom Franks offered safety courses for various corporations. Today he was presenting fire safety information to a group of employees at a local business. Specifically, he was teaching them about fire extinguishers.
"Hopefully this company will never experience a fire," said Tom. "Fire requires three things: heat, oxygen, and fuel. To remove the heat, oftentimes you can dump water on the fire. To take away the oxygen, a fire can sometimes be smothered with a heavy blanket or by dumping sand or baking soda onto it."
"Of course, fire extinguishers are tools to remove an element contributing to the fire as well. It's an absolute necessity even though your greatest wish should be that it always stays on the shelf collecting dust. Are there any questions so far?" Tom asked.
