Filling a Prescription

Your ear is hurting. You've gone to the doctor. He has given you a prescription. Now what do you do? Go to your friendly neighborhood pharmacy.

The person who fills your prescription is the pharmacist. She has gone to college for many years to learn her job. She knows a lot about all kinds of drugs. Some people call her a druggist.


If you need to have a prescription filled, give it to the pharmacist. She will read what the doctor wrote and give you the exact drug your doctor ordered. She will count out the exact amount of pills. She can also mix up certain drugs so you can take them in liquid form.


The pharmacist will hand you a bottle that has the drug the doctor ordered for you in it. The bottle will have a label on it. The label will have a lot of information on it.
