Millions of immigrants have come to this country. They have brought many things, including new ideas. There are some famous people that lived here that you might not even know were immigrants. These people moved to the United States for different reasons. No matter what the reason was for moving here, they all helped to change this country and the world around them. Immigrants contributed to the fields of art, literature, music, science, and medicine, as well as many others. Here are a few immigrants that contributed to the entertainment industry in America.


Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Austria in 1947. He lived there until early adulthood when he came to this country. When he was younger, Schwarzenegger was a bodybuilder. He won the title of Mr. Olympia seven times. This led to a long career in movies. Schwarzenegger became a big star. He was interested in politics and was later elected governor of California.


Bob Hope was born in 1903. His given name when he was born was Leslie. He was born in England. Hope was an actor both on the radio and in movies. His first full-length movie was The Big Broadcast of 1938. He went on to star in more than fifty movies. Hope is also well known for what he did for the men and women in the military. He performed in United Service Organizations (USO) shows to entertain active duty American military for fifty years, from 1941 until 1991.
